What are Majalis?

Gatherings of Light & Learning

Majalis (singular: Majlis) are traditional Islamic gatherings held to commemorate significant events in Islamic history particularly the events of Karbala and the lives of the Imams and Prophets.

At the Voice of Lady Zainab Foundation, our Majalis go beyond commemoration. They are spaces for education, dialogue, and community building where attendees can learn about Islamic history, discuss the contemporary relevance of Ahlul Bayt teachings, and strengthen bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood.

Our series spans the Islamic year, with particular focus during Muharram, Ramadan, and other significant occasions.
