The Echoes of Karbala

In the year 680 CE, 60 years after the death of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), Imam Hussein (AS), the grandson of the Prophet stood firm against the oppressive rule of Yazid ibn Muawiya. Alongside his family and a small band of loyal companions, he refused to pledge allegiance to an unjust ruler, choosing instead to make the ultimate sacrifice in defense of truth and justice.

The Battle of Karbala witnessed the brutal massacre of Imam Hussein (AS), his sons, and his companions by the forces of Yazid. However, the true spirit of their resistance lived on through the unwavering courage and eloquence of Lady Zainab, Imam Hussein's sister.

The Voice of Resilience

In the aftermath of Karbala, Lady Zainab and the women and children of Imam Hussein's camp were taken captive and paraded through the streets of Kufa and Damascus. It was during this arduous journey that Lady Zainab emerged as the voice of defiance, delivering powerful sermons that condemned the injustices perpetrated by Yazid and his regime.

Her words resonated with the masses, igniting a fire of resistance that would eventually lead to the downfall of the Umayyad dynasty. Lady Zainab's unwavering spirit and commitment to the message of her brother became a beacon of hope for the oppressed and a rallying cry for those seeking justice and righteousness.

Carrying the Torch

As Muslim families, we are deeply committed to the message of Imam Hussein (AS). His teachings emphasize the importance of standing with the poor and vulnerable people, upholding righteousness, and accepting the consequences of these actions as much as possible. We are dedicated to opposing injustice, promoting peace and love, and rejecting violence.

Recognizing that women and children are among the most vulnerable populations in the world, we have established The Voice of Lady Zainab Foundation to fight for their rights and well-being. The foundation's mission is to uphold the message of Imam Hussein (AS) by fostering dialogue and understanding among diverse communities. We seek to engage in direct communication, valuing the perspectives of others and ensuring our voices are heard directly rather than through intermediaries.

Join us on this journey, as we honor the legacy of Imam Hussein (AS) and Lady Zainab, and work towards a future where their message of truth, justice, and human dignity resonates in every corner of the globe.
